Additional Amenities:
Follow the series of eight birdhouses to the foot bridge at Nelson Brook and then follow the white trail down to the old fishing camp on the bank of the river. Turn right at the camp on the red trail and check out the scenic overlook of the river, then turn right at the blue trail and loop back to the white trail. The red trail can also be followed back to the white trail by turning left at the fishing camp.

Directions to Parking:
From Wiscasset, take Route 218 North to the Alna Fire Station. Go 1.2 miles to the gravel parking lot on the right. Look for the Bas Falls sign and information kiosk. If you reach the Alna Store, you''ve gone too far. From the north, take Route 218 to Alna. The sign and kiosk will b e on the left past the Alna Store. PARKING LOT IS NOT PLOWED IN THE WINTER.
