This walk uses the Androscoggin Swinging Bridge with parks at each end having benches and small play or gathering areas at each end of the bridge within the two waterfront parks.

This walk in both Brunswick and Topsham traverses the sidewalks and a trail on banks of the Androscoggin River encompassing the Swinging Bridge and the Frank Wood Bridge.

There are many access points along the route. Many residents can reach the route within 15 minutes without driving.

Public parking is available at either end of the Swinging Bridge in Topsham off Bridge Street and in Brunswick off Mill Street; at Fort Andross on Maine Street, Brunswick; and at Topsham's Lower Village behind 10 Main Street.

Drive to one of the parking lots and hop onto the route and enjoy our river views.
Bicycling Directions to Main Trailhead:
This route is very helpful for cyclist to move from town to town safely away from traffic in a densely populated area.
   
How to Follow the Route:
Walking directions for following the route:
Starting at Maine Street in Brunswick along a paved sidewalk: • Cross in front of Fort Andross, along Cabot Street to Bow Street, • From Bow Street, pass by the NorthWest Brunswick neighborhood on Mill Street. • From Mill Street, cross the Androscoggin River on the Androscoggin Swinging Bridge to the Topsham Heights neighborhood on a path of well-drained soil, pass through a lovely wooded area along the Topsham side of the river. • The path intersects Summer Street in Topsham. Follow Summer Street on a paved sidewalk to the intersection of Main Street. • At Main Street, Topsham, turn left to go back across the river on the Green Bridge to Maine Street, Brunswick up to the starting point in front of Fort Andross.
