There are several loop trails that diverge from the main trail. These side loops access the shore at several places and provide elevated views of the area. Note that some side trails may be closed at certain times of the year. Please obey all trail closure signs.

Driving Directions to Main Trailhead:
Travel 5.6 miles east on Route 189 from the intersection with Route 1 in Whiting. Turn left onto Crows Neck Road. Travel 0.4 miles and make a right onto Lead Mine Road. Make your first left onto Straight Bay Road and travel about 3.2 miles. Watch for a gravel parking area and brown wooden signs identifying the parking area. The trail begins at the metal gate.

How to Follow the Route:
Walking directions for following the route:
Past the metal gate, walk through a field following the path or colored flagging on the trees. The trail basically hugs the left side of the field and enters the woods at an obvious break in the bushes.
